Imposter Syndrome is the feeling of knowing that one doesn’t actually qualify for what they’ve accomplished in life. 

It’s an intense feeling of self-doubt and insecurity – often with a nagging sense of shame that one may not deserve to be where they are. This can lead somebody to believe that there will eventually be some revelation that will show them unworthy or discredit their successes.

Imposter syndrome is a feeling of inadequacy that you have when you’re in an environment where you think people are more qualified than you.


It can be hard to tell if it’s actually imposter syndrome or just nerves, but there are some signs to look for:


-You feel like everyone else has it together, and they understand what they’re doing better than you do 

-You find yourself trying to emulate the other people around you so that others don’t think less of your work 

-You take on extra responsibilities because someone needs to keep things moving, even though this makes it harder for you


It comes in many forms, such as self-doubt, insecurity, fear of being found out, or a negative outlook on life. These thoughts can become so overwhelming they make it hard to function and get through the day.

How to overcome imposter syndrome

Before you start feeling overwhelmed by the thought of being a fraud, it’s important to remember that we all have imposter syndrome. In fact, everyone has dealt with self-doubt at some point in their life and for a good reason. 


It can be hard not to feel like an imposter when you’re surrounded by many successful people who make it seem easy and natural.


The truth is that everyone feels like an imposter at some point in their life, but we all have skills that someone else needs–including bosses, friends and family members who don’t want to reveal their own weaknesses. 


So when this happens to us, instead of letting it stop our progress, we should take a few moments for ourselves to catch up with what’s going on around us before making any adjustments needed. 


Imposter syndrome is a psychological phenomenon in which people cannot internalise their accomplishments, often feeling as though they’re undeserving of success. 

Spiritual people need to understand this because the lack of self-esteem and insecurity that comes with impostor syndrome can have an adverse effect one’s spirituality.


In order to overcome imposter syndrome, it is necessary to learn how not to be afraid of what others think about you and strive for your own personal goals without worrying about what other people might think or say about you.

Ways to live your best life

  • Take a break from the daily grind
  • Find your passion and pursue it
  • Be grateful for what you have
  • Practice self-compassion by forgiving yourself when you make mistakes or don’t live up to expectations 
  • Get enough sleep every night so that you can be at your best during the day 
  • Eat healthy food and exercise regularly so that you feel energised, not sluggish
  • Make a list of your accomplishments
  • Get rid of any negative thoughts that are holding you back
  • Ask for help when you need it, and don’t be afraid to ask for what you want
  • Surround yourself with people who make you feel good about yourself
  • Write down what you’re good at and the things that make you happy
  • Find ways to give back – volunteer or donate money to charity
  • Reach out for help from friends or family if you need it 
  • Remember that everyone feels like an imposter sometimes

Don’t let the fear of being an imposter stop you

I know it’s hard to take the first step. To feel vulnerable in a world that is constantly challenging you and telling you how imperfect you are. I know what it feels like to be afraid of being an imposter, but let me tell you something:


It’s not worth living a false life for fear of being an imposter.


If we want to have true happiness and success, we need to stop worrying about how perfect our lives seem from the outside looking in because none of us is perfect anyway!


We all have that one thing we are afraid of. We let fear stop us from doing things and being who we want to be. Fear is natural, but it’s not healthy for you. You should never let your fears control you because if you do, they win and will always have power over you.


Fear of being an imposter is one of the biggest things that stop us from living our best lives.


Sometimes we feel like a fraud because we don’t know how to do something, but someone has told us it’s okay or because we are not as good at something else. 


This fear can prevent you from taking risks in life and maybe holding back your personal development and progress.

Let the Inner Guru in when feeling low or anxious

Everyone has an inner guru who knows how to help you be your best. But what about when you feel low or anxious!


It is normal to feel low or anxious from time to time. It’s important not to let these feelings go unchecked, as they can become overwhelming and damaging if left untreated. Here are some ways you can take care of yourself when feeling any of these emotions:

-Sadness: do something meaningful and comforting for you. 

-Anger: use your anger as a motivation to stand up for what you believe in or find solutions.

-Anxiety: don’t let anxiety stop you from living life fully. Take time out if needed, and remember that it is not possible to predict the future. 

-Fear: focus on all the things in your life that make you feel safe, secure and loved.
